These video clips and photos were taken in Benares, India (a.k.a. Varanasi.) The first ceremony is called the Evening Aarti and is on the main ghat (steps) leading down to the Ganges river. Other day and nighttime activities along the Ganges follow. Singing by the group of women pictured sitting on the ghat provides most of the soundtrack.
